Gelled Calcium Sulfonate in Aliphatic Solvent
Description
Petcor 8002 is a concentrated, highly thixotropic gelled sulfonate in mineral spirits. It allows the easy formulation of solvent borne industrial coatings with a variety of raw materials.
The product offers superior corrosion protection, as well as resistance to dripping and flow in finished coatings.
Petcor 8002 also imparts viscosity, flow controls, high build and sag resistance to coatings. It can also be of value in the dispersion of pigments in highly formulated coatings.
Application
- Petcor 8002 is highly concentrated. It should be formulated by blending with a film former such as oil, wax or petrolatum to produce a continuous film and optimum performance.
- Can be used where minimal dripping is desired.
- May be used in formulating alternative to hot drip products.
- Petcor 8002 has potential use in the formulation of longer term outdoor rust preventive coatings.
Storage and Handling
Petcor 8002 contains solvents and should be stored away from heat, flames and sources of ignition. Prolonged breathing of vapours should be avoided. See the MSDS for further instructions.
