Gelled Calcium Sulfonate in Petroleum Oil
Description
Petcor 1200A is a solvent free, gelled calcium sulfonate compound in a low viscosity petroleum oil. Designed to allow the easy formulation of solvent-free rust preventatives, lubricants and coatings, Petcor 1200A is a versatile product that can be used ‘as is’ as well as being easily emulsified for use in water borne rust preventatives and coatings. Petcor 1200A contains a wax compound for improved film integrity and resistance to water in thin film applications, and itself deposits an oil film.
Application
- May be used ‘as is’ for the protection and lubrication of moving and sliding mechanical parts.
- Designed to allow the easy formulation of coatings where solvent is not desirable.
- If formulated in conjunction with sulfurized olefins, Petcor 1200A can impart good extreme pressure and anti-wear properties.
- When blended with oil and drying oils or resins, Petcor 1200A is a good base for marine ballast tank coatings.
- Can be used where minimal dripping and oil mess is desired.
Storage and Handling
Petcor 1200A should be stored away from heat, flame, and sources of ignition. For more detail, consult the MSDS.
