DESCRIPTION

G-2251-1 Grease is a member of a family of technologically advanced greases that have been developed by complexing modified overbased calcium sulfonates. This technology, developed and patented by Chemtura, is characterized by exceptional mechanical stability, high dropping point, high load carrying performance, reduced wear, and excellent resistance to water and corrosion. This technology equals and in many ways outperforms other premium, high temperature greases such as Lithium Complex, Aluminum Complex and Polyurea.

Thermal and Mechanical Stability
• Superior mechanical stability versus other thickeners, particularly in the presence of heat and water
• High dropping point, typically in excess of 300ºC

Load Carrying & Wear Protection
• Enhanced EP and AW properties
• Contains 3% MoS2 (<5 micron)

Resistance to Water
• Excellent resistance to water washout

Corrosion Resistance
• Sulfonates are known and used for their excellent rust prevention properties
• This property is inherent in the thickener
• Will easily outperform all other technologies

Resistance to Oxidation
• The use of a premium antioxidant ensures excellent thermal and oxidation stability

APPLICATION AREAS

G-2251-1 Grease is designed for high load carrying in off-road, construction, and mining equipment applications. It is intended to operate in such equipment where a 3% Moly medium duty grease is called for. If extreme duty or 5% Moly is required, then please consider G2254-1. It will also meet the requirements for NLGI GC/LB wheel bearing and chassis lubrication.
