Additin RC 8239 is highly effective to protect copper and its alloys against corrosion. A very thin and stable film is formed on the metal surface by chemi- sorption which protects the metal without staining. The negative influence of dissolved copper ions on the oxidation stability of lubricants and rubber parts is minimized. This can be seen on its strong synergistic effect in combination with antioxidants. Compared with solid triazole derivates Additin RC 8239 shows extemely good solubility even in critical base fluids, such as PAO and group 2 types base stocks.

Additin RC 8239 is in compliance with § 178.3570 according to U.S. Food and Drug administration regulations (lubricants with incidental food contact).

Solubility

Additin RC 8239 is easy to handle liquid with excellent solubility in mineral oil and synthetic base oil. However, it is necessary to verify the compatibility with other additives in the base oil used.
