Additin RC 8221 is recommended to be used to protect copper or copper alloys against corrosion. A very thin and stable film is formed on the metal surface by chemisorption which protects the metal without staining of the heat transfer. The negative influence of dissolved copper ions on the oxidation stability of lubricants and rubber parts is minimized. This can be seen by strong synergistic effect in combination with antioxidants. Corrosion, especially pitting on metals like aluminum, zinc and ferrous metals by forming copper deposits on the metal surface is avoided.
Solubility
The solubility in the base oils used and the compatibility with other additives should be verified.
Storage conditions
In a dry place at room temperature approx. 12 months
