Additin® RC 7207 is a crystalline antioxidant belonging to the group of sterically hindered, non-discolouring phenols. The field of application of this universal oxidation inhibitor includes most types of lubricants. Especially where long term oil temperature exceeds 90°C in open and 120°C in closed systems.
The combination of Additin® RC 7207 with aminic antioxidants, e.g. Additin® RC 7135 LD and/or copper deactivators, e.g. Additin® RC 8221, is leading to more extensive oxidation inhibiting properties
Additin® RC 7207 can be applied for all industrial uses of lubricants and is well-known for stabilizing vegetable and animal fats. For that reason and from field experience Additin® RC 7207 is recommended to stabilize biodegradable lubricants such as rapeseed oil and synthetic esters.
Solubility
Additin® RC 7207 is easily soluble in most mineral oils and synthetic base stocks. However, it is necessary to verify the solubility in the base oils used and the compatibility with other additives.
