Additin® RC 7110 is a crystalline antioxidant belonging to the group of sterically hindered, non-discolouring
phenols. The field of application of this universal oxidation inhibitor includes most types of lubricants. Limitations
are given by the long term oil temperature which should not exceed 90°C in open and 120°C in closed systems.
The combination of Additin® RC 7110 with aminic antioxidants, e.g. Additin® RC 7135 LD and/or copper
deactivators, e.g. Additin® RC 8221, is leading to more extensive oxidation inhibiting properties.

Additin® RC 7110 is in compliance with § 178.3570 according to U.S. Food and Drug administration regulations
(lubricants with incidental food contact).

This product is acceptable as an ingredient for use in lubricants with incidental food contact (HX-1) for use in and
around food processing areas. Such compounds may be used on food processing equipment as a protective antirust
film, as a release agent on gaskets or seals of tank closures, and as a lubricant for machine parts and
equipment in locations in which there is a potential exposure of the lubricated part to food. The amount used
should be the minimum required to accomplish the desired technical effect on the equipment. If used as an antirust
film, the compound must be removed from the equipment surface by washing or wiping, as required to leave the surface effectively free of any substance which could be transferred to food being processed.

Formulations containing NSF Registered ingredients are not considered to be NSF Registered products (e.g. H-1
or H-2 lubricants) automatically. A separate application is required for each final product. If you would like to apply
for a NSF Registration of your lubricant you need only identify our trade name Additin® RC 7110, the NSF
Registration Number 127809, and concentration within the finished product on the application form.

Additin® RC 7110 can be applied for all industrial uses of lubricants and is well-known for stabilizing vegetable
and animal fats. For that reason and from field experience Additin® RC 7110 is recommended to stabilize
biodegradable lubricants such as rapeseed oil and synthetic esters.

The chemical purity of Additin® RC 7110 meets food grade quality and can be used in most of all applications, but
it is not qualified for direct use in food stuff, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and animal feed. For these applications a
special grade is offered by our mother company Lanxess under the trade name Vulkanox® BHT Food Grade.
Please note that for Vulkanox® BHT Food Grade additional requirements for transporting, warehousing and
handling are necessary.

Solubility

Additin® RC 7110 is easily soluble in most mineral oils and synthetic base stocks. However, it is necessary to
verify the solubility in the base oils used and the compatibility with other additives.
