  • Working fluids

Additin® RC 6340 is an ashless additive with multifunctional properties, i.e. it can be used as an EP, antiwear and antioxidant additive. Additin® RC 6340 is ideally suited for formulating heavy metal-free EP greases. Additionally, it can be used as an antiwear/antioxidant component for hydraulic fluids and industrial gear oils. The combination of Additin® RC 6340 with inactive sulphur carriers, e.g. Additin® RC 2410 or zinc dithiophosphates, e.g. Additin® RC 3180 and anticorrosion additives, e.g. Additin® 4220 assists in achieving optimum performance of hydraulic fluids and industrial gear oils as well as EP greases.

Additin® RC 6340 is in compliance with § 178.3570 according to U.S. Food and Drug administration regulations (lubricants with incidental food contact). This product is acceptable as a lubricant where there is no possibility of food contact (H2) in and around food processing areas. Such compounds may be used as lubricants, release agents, or antirust films on equipment and machine parts in locations in which there is no possibility of the lubricant or lubricated part contacting edible products.

This product is acceptable as an ingredient for use in lubricants with incidental food contact (HX-1) for use in and around food processing areas. The registration of Additin® RC 6340 is for the use as an additive only in lubricants at a level not to exceed 0,5 % percent by weight.

Such compounds may be used on food processing equipment as a protective anti-rust film, as a release agent on gaskets or seals of tank closures, and as a lubricant for machine parts and equipment in locations in which there is a potential exposure of the lubricated part to food. The amount used should be the minimum required to accomplish the desired technical effect on the equipment. If used as an anti-rust film, the compound must be removed from the equipment surface by washing or wiping, as required to leave the surface effectively free of any substance which could be transferred to food being processed.

Additin® RC 6340 is acceptable as an ingredient for use in lubrcants with no food contact (HX-2). Such compounds may be used as lubricants, release agents, or antirust films on equipment and machine parts in locations where there is no possibility of the lubricant or lubricated part contacting edible products.

Formulations containing NSF Registered ingredients are not considered to be NSF Registered products (e.g. H1 or H2 lubricants). A separate application is required for each final product. If you would like to apply for a NSF Registration of your lubricant you need only identify our trade name Additin® RC 6340, the NSF Registration Number 141854 and concentration within the finished product on the application form.
