High Viscosity Crude Resin
Description
Petadd PR-1810 is a crude resin derived from refinery processes, it is higher in carbon and lower in sulfur & oxygen than other resins derived from naphthenic and asphaltic crudes. Petadd PR-1810 is a high viscosity, high boiling point heavy hydrocarbon.
Application
- Can be used in grease formulations to increase viscosity.
- Provides viscosity modification for applications such as metalworking, wire rope lubricants, and open gear compounds.
- Widely used in in asphalt modification, for both roofing and paving.
- Can be used to control the quench rate of quenching oils.
- Adds gloss to coatings, and hardness when baked.
- Also compatible in spirit varnishes, phenolics, alkyds and ester gum varnishes.
Advantages
- An economical means of building viscosity.
- Will make mineral oils less sensitive to temperature changes.
- Its high boiling point makes PR-1810 an ideal component in quenching operations.
