KRAHN UK – a partnership that goes from strength to strength
26 November 2023
For KRAHN UK, 2023 has been a busy and rewarding year. The business has continued to grow as we have continued to strengthen our offering to customers and suppliers in the face of unprecedented market and economic challenges whilst completing our integration into KRAHN Chemie. This has included hands-on involvement for all the KRAHN team that have been actively participating in key industry trade fairs, conferences, and events across Europe.
Earlier in the summer, the KRAHN Chemie Leadership team, from across Europe, visited the UK and met the KRAHN UK team. KRAHN cultural development is important and something we all value and embrace and with many colleagues able to meet face-to-face for the first time, the visit was a complete success.
There were additional KRAHN Chemie ‘firsts’ this year, including its inaugural customer facing sustainability workshop, “Navigating the EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability and Safe and Sustainable by Design,” which was supported by KRAHN UK who attended the event on 9th October. In November, Andrew Lamb KRAHN UK Managing Director, chaired a panel discussion at the UKLA Succession and Sustainability event in London. Sustainability is integral to our business and every KRAHN employee is involved in regular training and discussion projects that help the business to limit its impact on the environment. We are developing several Sustainability Services that we will offer to our customers very soon.
The group launched its innovative new global mobility programme, New Horizons, encouraging network building and personal and professional growth for employees. Each year, six staff members are given the opportunity to spend time at a different KRAHN partner office and location, to meet new colleagues, experience how different partner offices work, embrace a new culture and learn more about themselves in the process. KRAHN UK was delighted to host KRAHN Nordics Sales and Marketing Coordinator, Cinnamon Kelleners in Chester for two weeks as the second staff member to take part in the programme.
“Participating in the New Horizons mobility program was the best thing I’ve done since I started at KRAHN,” enthuses Cinnamon. Alongside the SAP (Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing) trainings and partner meetings, Cinnamon enjoyed a flavour of British culture: from watching a school cricket match to enjoying oat cakes, the typical local dish, and exploring the city of Sandbach. “It felt like I became part of the team rather quick… A big thank you to Andy and the team…you really made me feel welcome.”
Further enhancing a strong and collaborative partnership, KRAHN UK has proactively supported the group through sponsorship, presentation and participation at events, which this year included Lubricant Expo 23 at Messe Essen, sharing a stand with partner Lanxess; the UNITI Mineral Oil Technology Congress in Stuttgart, the 12th International Scientific-Technical Conference Lubricants 2023 in Strarachowice, Poland; the UKLA Sustainability and Succession conference and the UKLA Annual Dinner, both in London
In addition, KRAHN UK partnered Shrieve Industries at Automechanika UK and attended and supported the UKLA Northern Lunch in Manchester.
“It has been a very busy and challenging year but also very rewarding,” explains Andrew Lamb Managing Director KRAHN UK. “ I am especially proud of the KRAHN UK team who have participated in, and embraced everything we have done. Collaboration is at the company’s heart and KRAHN UK is fully committed to continuing to develop long-term partnerships with our suppliers and customers and supporting our colleagues within the KRAHN Chemie Group in whatever ways we can.”
