KRAHN UK Managing Director, Andrew Lamb, was delighted to have been invited to chair the panel discussion on “Sustainable Raw Materials, Products & the Supply Chain”, at the UKLA ‘Succession and Sustainability – A new Perspective’ conference, which took place in London on 18th October.

The event marks the third industry conference hosted by the United Kingdom Lubricants Association, the national association that represents the interests of its members across the UK lubricants industry landscape and supply chain. The conference examined the challenges facing the lubricants industry as it transitions towards a more strategically sustainable outlook, focusing on the critical business opportunities and commercial practices that will impact the long term viability of the sector.

The hard-hitting panel discussion featured distinguished industry stalwarts: Mark Olpin, Executive Chairman, Slicker Recycling; Vladimir Dhondt, Sales Manager, Avista Green, and David Hopkinson, Group CEO, Multisol. Audience Q&As reflected the engagement and interest of the delegates as the panellists debated supply chain integrity, compliance and embedding sustainability across the organisation’s products and people.

Andrew Lamb summed it up: “The discussion highlighted how vital the tough decisions are for an industry that is serious about real change. Verifying supply chain sustainability is vital to any company’s overall sustainability strategy. This lively and interesting debate reflects the difficulties of developing a vision into reality but only by sharing best practices and better understanding the challenges that we face as we transition to a more sustainable future, will we ensure our industry meets the challenges of the future.”
